The market for Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp could heat up as the 2025 offseason moves forward. While Kupp's departure appears to be a foregone conclusion, his next team remains a mystery.

There's been a lot of speculation that an AFC team might be interested in his services. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers have been floated as possible destinations, but ESPN's Mina Kimes has another potential landing spot for the veteran: The Houston Texans.

"The Texans last year needed physicality," Kimes said recently on NFL Live. "They needed to be better in both run blocking and pass protection and it was a team-wide issue. They need skill players who can block. And you get an offensive coordinator from the Rams, Nick Caley, who's taught tight ends. He's going to want to add that element to this offense.

I think Kupp would be a great chess piece to make this run game more physical and to make the passing game more diverse."

In this scenario, Kimes assumes the Texans won't bring back Stefon Diggs, who they traded for this past offseason before he sustained an ACL injury midway through the 2024 season.

The connection would make sense for Houston because, as Kimes said, Caley is a Sean McVay acolyte who now runs the Texans offense. Kupp wouldn't cost much for the Texans to acquire -- reports indicate the soon-to-be 32-year-old could fetch a fourth-round pick in a trade -- and his veteran presence could be huge for young stars Nico Collins and Tank Dell. The veteran is also a different receiver than Collins and Dell and would give the Texans offense a new skillset to work with a possession pass-catcher who can block as well.

It's an intriguing trade thought and a new potential spot for Kupp to land. But it takes two to tango, and there hasn't been any indication the Texans are interested in Kupp as of this writing.
