Daphne Search and Rescue continues search for 7-year-old Hunter Slezak

GULFPORT, Miss. (WKRG) -- Daphne Search and Rescue deployed M/V Impact from the Gulfport, Mississippi Marina on Tuesday morning to continue search efforts for 7-year-old Hunter Slezak.

Slezak has been missing since Nov. 29, when he went on a shrimping trip with his father, 42-year-old Michael Slezak, and family friend, 69-year-old Sam Wooley.

Authorities found the bodies of Michael and Wooley, but Hunter has not been found. The boat was also found.

Daphne Search and Rescue posted on Facebook about the continuing search efforts and said several volunteers, including a drone team, are on board.

"Please keep our team in your prayers that we can locate him and bring him home," the post said. "Please remember [Hunter's] family as well during this holiday season."

The Mobile County Sheriff's Office suspended its search for the boy on Sunday, Dec. 15.

"We exhausted all of our efforts on the water, in the air and with our divers," Sheriff Paul Burch said in a news release. "It is our hope and prayer that the Slezak family will receive closure.

"We encourage anyone on the water and in the surrounding areas to contact us if anything is seen pertaining to Hunter's case."
