2 officers, 2 drivers hospitalized after crash in north Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) -- Two police officers and two other drivers were taken to the hospital after a crash early Wednesday morning in north Phoenix.

First responders were called to the reported crash around 4:20 a.m. at 19th Avenue and Dunlap Avenue. It involved a police SUV and two pickup trucks.

Arizona's Family confirmed at the scene that two officers were hospitalized as a precaution. The two drivers of the trucks involved were also taken to the hospital, but their conditions were not provided.

19th Avenue northbound is closed as an investigation unfolds. Drivers looking to go north will be blocked on nearby roads by North Mountain Park, so the best northbound options would be I-17 to the west or 7th Street to the east.

Dunlap Avenue is open westbound and restricted to one lane eastbound.

It's unknown what led to this crash or if impairment played a factor.
