MONROEVILLE, Ala. (WKRG) -- A police chase leads to the death of a teenage passenger in a truck according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. According to a news release, a pickup being pursued by Monroeville Police crashed Friday night on Alabama Highway 21.
Troopers say a 17-year-old passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. The 18-year-old driver was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. Troopers did not release the name of the driver, just saying the person was an "18-year-old juvenile."
We reached out to Monroeville Police, and a person at the office said the driver is currently being charged with felony attempting to elude. We left a message for the investigator and are waiting on a call back.

EVERGREEN POST -- A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 9:13 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, has claimed the life of a 17-year-old juvenile. The 17-year-old passenger was fatally injured when the 2012 Ford F-150 driven by an 18-year-old juvenile left the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned. The 17-year-old passenger was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. The 18-year-old driver was injured and transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.
