Marin County CHP says man drove his Ferrari into bay while drunk

A man allegedly under the influence of alcohol drove his Ferrari into Richardson Bay in an unincorporated area of Mill Valley on Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

In a Facebook reel titled "Flying Ferrari," the CHP's Marin County office said the driver "failed to properly negotiate a curve on Seminary Drive" before sailing into the water. In the reel, the man's wrecked Ferrari can be seen in the bay as "I Believe I Can Fly" by R. Kelly plays.

"We're thankful this crash didn't result in fatal injuries to the man or anyone else," the reel's caption says. "Please designate a sober driver or call a ride service instead of driving intoxicated."

The post did not say what kind of injuries, if any, the driver sustained. The reel shows the man being led into a squad car while in handcuffs. It also shows the luxury sports car, with a smashed front end and covered in splotches of mud, being towed from the bay.
