This Morning star announces horrifying news after wife 'spat in face by stranger' | Wales Online

Tom Swarbrick appeared on This Morning on Wednesday (November 19) as he opened up on the moment his wife was spat on

The Morning star Tom Swarbrick was supported by his co-stars as he recalled the horrifying moment his wife was 'spat in the face' by a stranger.

During Wednesday's (November 19) episode of the ITV hit show, hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard returned to our screens as they presented the day's top stories.

However, just minutes into the show, co-star Tom, who is a regular fixture on the daytime programme, wasted no time opening up about the incident.

Ben started off by saying, "Tom, we wanted to talk about what happened to your wife just at the start of the weekend, when you posted on social media about it."

Tom was grateful for the support as he replied: Yes, well, it's very kind of you, and thank you both for your messages after I posted about it."

Sharing more details on the horrific moment, the TV star explained: "So my wife was driving our daughter through a narrow rural Lane in Kent, and as she stopped to allow a driver to come through.

"This driver pulled up alongside her and told her to wind her window down or gesture to wind her window down, and then just gave her a volley of expletives, every effing and jeffing under the sun, and then hooked up phlegm and spat it into her face!"

As Cat asked why, he went on: "He was coming towards her. She pulled over to one side to let him through. They hadn't had an incident before that.

"There was just, there was just nothing. Our daughter was in pieces, you know, terrified. She's eight, on the floor."

He continued: "And you know, this is a very rural area. There's not a lot happening around there, particularly. I mentioned on my LBC show about what had happened and amazingly a woman got in touch who happened to be in the car behind him, and she was incredibly helpful to the police."

He claimed: "To be honest with you, I don't think this would have happened had I been driving the car, or if Ben had been driving the car. This happened because it was a woman on her own, apparently, on her own in the car."

The star added: "For my wife, Alex, and my daughter, Lucy, who is left absolutely terrified by this, who still wakes up in the middle of the night terrified by it, I want that man to feel the fear that he inspired in her.

"And I think most decent guys who are dads, who are husbands, who are sons, they want this man found as well, because it is absolutely, totally unacceptable that someone would feel that they could do this to a woman because they're a woman and think that they can get away with it."

Ben explained: "Anybody with any information. You can contact Thomas but also you can contact Kent Police on, 1622604, 100 quoting reference one, six, hyphen, 0408, we'll make sure those details are on our app or on our social media as well."

The TV host continued: "I'm so sorry your wife and your daughter had to go through that, because it doesn't help anybody when people behave like that, particularly in that sort of scenario."
