Boston man dead, Mass. teenager hurt in crash on N.H. highway

A South Boston man died following a three-car crash on the Frederick E. Everett Turnpike in New Hampshire on Monday, New Hampshire State Police said Tuesday.

At around 2:48 p.m., troopers learned of a multi-vehicle crash on the northbound side of the highway near the 7E exit, State Police said in a statement.

A white Audi Q5 driven by Candice Maple, 17, of Dunstable, Massachusetts, was heading north before a crash with a Lexus ES driven by Joseph Casper, 85, of South Boston, the statement read.

The Lexus then struck a gray Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, which then rolled over on its side, State Police said.

Casper was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the statement read.

Maple and the driver of the Dodge, Brian Roberts, 50, of Churchill, Tennessee, both had minor injuries, State Police said. Maple was hospitalized, while Roberts was not taken to the hospital for treatment.

The crash continues to be under investigation. State Police ask that anyone with information about the crash email Trooper Mark Lingerman at [email protected].
