CLARK COUNTY, Ind. -- One person was injured during a road rage shooting on Interstate 65 in Clark County.

According to a press release from Indiana State Police, a person driving a white Chrysler Town and Country and another motorist in a Ford Bronco sideswiped each other on I-65 near mile marker 16 around 2 p.m. Friday.

Both cars ultimately came to a stop on the I-65 northbound ramp to Henryville -- also known as Exit 19. Once the cars stopped, a driver and passenger exited the Chrysler. The driver of the Ford then did the same.

Once the driver of the Ford got out of their vehicle, they brandished a gun and fired shots at the Chrysler's driver. After the shooting, the Chrysler's driver fled to a Circle K gas station in Henryville.

The driver of the Ford remained at the scene and spoke with state troopers when they arrived. ISP reported that the driver of the Ford was on the phone with 911 operators during his entire confrontation with the Chrysler's occupants.

ISP reported that the Chrysler's driver was struck by the shots the driver of the Ford fired. The Chrysler's driver was transported to University of Louisville Hospital after the shooting.

ISP did not provide an update on the victim's condition. State police confirmed the driver of the Ford was detained after the shooting.
