LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- New details in the fatal I-81 crash in Lebanon County that caused the road to be closed for the afternoon were released by Pennsylvania State Police.
A tractor-trailer driver crashed into the back of a vehicle that was stopped in traffic because of congestion on I-81 south in East Hanover Township at 11:24 a.m. Thursday, State Police at Jonestown said in a crash report.
Following the collision, the tractor-trailer crashed into the back of another vehicle and pushed that into the back of a stopped tractor-trailer, Troopers said.

The driver of the third vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, Troopers said. Three others, two drivers and a passenger, were taken to Hershey Medical Center for evaluation.
The Lebanon County Coroner's Office, along with Fort Indiantown Gap Fire, Life Lion EMS and PennDOT helped Troopers at the scene.
The fatal crash caused a closure on I-81S in Lebanon County for over five hours on Thursday afternoon.
