Albert Lea driver killed in North Iowa truck crash

SCARVILLE, Iowa - A Freeborn County driver is dead after a pickup truck crash in North Iowa.

The Iowa State Patrol says 63-year-old driver from Albert Lea, Minnesota was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado south on 200th Avenue in Winnebago County when he failed to negotiate a curve near 485th Street. The State Patrol says the Silverado went off the road, rolled several times, and the driver was ejected from the truck.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Iowa State Patrol initially released a name but now says the driver will not be identified pending notification of relatives. The driver was not wearing a seat belt. The crash happened around 10:41 am Saturday.

The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office, Lake Mills Police Department, Lake Mills Fire Department, Scarville Fire Department, Forest City Ambulance, and Dick's Towning assisted with this accident.
