Plans for Traveller accommodation and HMO conversion

Plans for new Traveller accommodation and a bid to convert a property into an HMO have been lodged this week.

The proposals for two new static caravan pitches for Travellers are at Plot 17, The Pheasantry, Wardwell Lane, Lower Halstow.

The plans include the change of use of land, space for touring caravans, a new driveway, parking areas, boundary fencing, an access gate, and planting and utility sheds.

It is just one of the applications submitted to Swale council this week.

In Sheerness, there are plans to change 6 Marine Parade into a nine-bed HMO. Meanwhile, at 18B Marine Parade, a proposal seeks a wrap-around single-storey rear extension to enlarge the lower ground floor flat.

A proposal has also been submitted for Unit 48 at Whitstable Business Park in Huffkins Way, Hernhill.

The applicant hopes to install a new mezzanine floor inside the existing commercial unit to increase internal workspace.

A home at 1 Aldred Road, Faversham, is the subject of plans for a first-floor extension.

It would include a roof lantern and the conversion of an attached garage into a kitchen with rooflights.

At 39 Athelstan Road, Faversham, proposals include a loft conversion, a pitched-roof dormer, new conservation roof windows, the removal of concrete tiles, the addition of natural slates, and a single-storey rear extension with two roof lights.

Other planning applications submitted include:

*At 67-69 The Street, Boughton-under-Blean, a conservation area notification has been submitted for tree and hedge works.

*At Scotts Oast, Hansletts Lane, Ospringe, the applicant is seeking a lawful development certificate for the installation of a solar panel on a garage roof.

*For 12-14 Broadway, Sheerness, the developer has submitted details covering sound insulation, opening and operational hours, a flood-resilience strategy, an improvement scheme, and emergency-evacuation arrangements linked to a previous permission.

*At Sheppey College, Bridge Road, Sheerness, details have been lodged relating to CO₂-emissions requirements under an earlier planning approval.

*For land west of Barge Way, Sittingbourne, three applications have been submitted providing details for an archaeological investigation, site hoarding, and landscaping, all tied to a previous consent.

*At Unit 5 Dolphin Park, Cremers Road, Sittingbourne, an application proposes a change of use from storage to industrial processes and indoor sport, recreation or fitness facilities.

*A conservation area notification has been made for 5 Roman Road, Faversham, seeking permission for works to cotoneaster, holly and bay trees, including crown lifting and pruning.

*At HMP Standford Hill in Eastchurch, details have been submitted for an archaeological watching brief.

*At HMP Elmley, Eastchurch, the applicant has provided details concerning external finishing materials, a landscape strategy, and biodiversity net gain as required by previous conditions.

*For Frognal Gardens and Cherry Gardens, Teynham, a telecommunications notification has been submitted for the installation of two 9-metre wooden poles.

*At 13 Preston Grove, Faversham, a conservation area notice seeks permission to fell a willow tree.

*For land south of Swanstree Avenue, Sittingbourne, a non-material amendment is proposed to a 135-home development, revising the site layout, landscaping, and an internal access path.

*A separate non-material amendment for land off Swanstree Avenue, Sittingbourne, proposes allowing non-native but ornamental and ecologically supportive planting species within the approved landscaping.

*At Frank Lloyd Nursing Home, Bell Road, Sittingbourne, plans have been submitted for the installation of a new external air-handling unit with connected ductwork and a perimeter fence.
