After a G League assignment for practice, LeBron James practiced with the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday and was listed as questionable to play against the Utah Jazz in crypto.com Arena on Tuesday.

James, 40, has been sidelined with sciatica in his right leg since the top of the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season, thus delaying the official launch of a record-breaking 23rd campaign in the league.

"If you had it, then you know what the hell it's about," he mentioned in a media session after completing practice without restrictions, "If you ain't never had it, people making jokes about it, I pray you never get it. It's not fun."

He is considered uncertain for the next game, but is nearing his season debut.

The next question will be about his fit in the team coached by JJ Redick, after a solid start, amounting to ten wins in 14 games. Leading the Lakers, Slovenian superstar Luka Doncic is up to a league-high 34.4 points per contest over ten appearances.

More intriguing scenarios concerning James extend to his expiring contract and becoming an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. His possible future ranges from retirement to re-signing with the Lakers and switching teams for the fourth time in his storied career.

The four-time NBA champion powered up the Cleveland Cavaliers between 2003 and 2010, and from 2014 to 2018, and suited up for the Miami Heat from 2010 to 2014, before joining the Lakers in 2018.
