EPHRAIM -- For art enthusiasts looking to expand their skills, the annual Summer Snow art workshops at Snow College are opening registration for their 2025 sessions. Held during the weeks of June 2 and June 9, the workshops will bring artists from across the country to the scenic campus in Ephraim for an immersive, hands-on experience.

Since its inception in 1974, Summer Snow has become a tradition that combines creativity, learning, and community. Originally focused on teaching the fundamentals of design and watercolor techniques, the program has grown to include a variety of mediums and topics. Over the years, it has attracted both aspiring and seasoned artists, offering a space for skill-building and inspiration.

This year, participants can explore workshops ranging from Frame Making Fundamentals to Watercolor and Portrait Painting, as well as Metal Casting. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, the weeklong sessions are designed to provide focused instruction and plenty of studio time to put new techniques into practice.

Adam Larsen, a Snow College art professor and co-director of Summer Snow, described the workshops as an opportunity for artists to recharge and connect.

"Summer Snow is a great way to recharge your creative batteries! Each weeklong workshop is designed by our amazing instructors as a focused engagement with a specific process and/or medium," Larsen said. "Participants hail each year from many walks of life and visual art experience, to expand their skills and network with colleagues in beautiful Sanpete County. I welcome you to come and join the camaraderie and warmth of Summer Snow!"

Workshops are open to artists, Utah K-12 and college educators, Snow College alumni, and anyone interested in exploring their creative side. Attendees can sign up for one or both weeks and experience hands-on learning in a welcoming environment.
