The 21-year-old actress' wardrobe lately isn't as strange and unusual as it may seem -- at least not for the star of director Tim Burton's "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice."

The actress has been celebrating the original film's funky fashions with tributes to the 1988 cult classic "Beetlejuice" while promoting the sequel on red carpets around the world.

In her most recent nod to the original film, Ortega and her team got creative with a structured gray and black Harris Reed ensemble inspired by the statue made by Catherine O'Hara's character Delia Deetz in the original film, according to stylist Enrique Melendez.

The set was styled with black velvet opera gloves and a miniature model of the haunted Deetz family home as a purse for the London premiere.

In Venice, Ortega wowed in a custom red sheer Dior gown with a heart-shaped top and pleated bottom. An homage to Winona Ryder's character Lydia Deetz's iconic red wedding dress.

The starlet seems to particularly love Michael Keaton's character Beetlejuice's wedding outfit.

She's twice paid tribute to the look with different updated takes on the burgundy suit.

Ortega wore a custom burgundy Paul Smith suit in Venice and a burgundy blazer dress with contrasting red lapels from Alexander McQueen and pillar box red rights in London.

For another day of press, Ortega was shot wearing a flowing floral Giambattista Valli Paris gown with a Handbag for the Recently Deceased -- and make-up that made her look like she'd become one.

The handbag -- a reference to the creepy handbook featured in the movie -- appears to have become a favorite accessory beloved by Ortega and "Beetlejuice" fans.

Although the look might not match the rest of the gothic "Beetlejuice" lookbook, Melendez shared that the style was inspired by Geena Davis' Beetlejuice character Barbara Maitland.

Even when traveling, Ortega hasn't broken character. The actress was spotted arriving at the 81st Venice Film Festival matching Alec Baldwin's character Adam Maitland.

Ortega wore a black and white plaid blazer over a red top paired with a pleated khaki Sans Faff mini skirt.

One of the looks that received the most fanfare was Ortega's near replica of Lydia Deetz's final look.

The actress copied the costume with a Thom Browne navy blue sweater customized with an emblem, white collared button-down and plaid skirt.

It was the first time she was seen clutching the Handbag for the Recently Deceased.

And what look screams "Beetlejuice" more than a striped suit?

Ortega pleased fans when she donned a long-sleeved, pinstriped suit dress by Dolce & Gabbana. Melendez described the look as "soft goth glam La Bella Mafia vibes" -- Beetlejuice probably didn't wear designer.

Stepping out in New York City, Ortega stunned in a cropped tuxedo jacket, semi-sheer black lace dress, and matching platform heels.

Premiering the film in Mexico, Ortega dressed to impress in a custom strapless teal Lurline dress featuring a shrunken head molded into the structured bodice and stitched around her legs.

The unique feature is a fun nod to the shrunken heads in the 80s movie -- and ones that might pop out in the new sequel.

Ortega walked another carpet in Mexico in custom patent Mary Jane snakeskin pattern platforms inspired by the head snake in the first movie.
