T'puram: The suicide note of BJP leader and Thirumala ward councillor K Anilkumar came to light on Monday, revealing the financial distress faced by Valiyasala Farm Tour Cooperative Society, of which he was president. In the note, he clarified that no personal financial liability fell on him and denied giving any benami loans. He described the situation as a general financial crisis similar to what many cooperatives face, adding that investors were arriving in large numbers seeking repayment."We have helped many of our people. However, some have delayed repayment, citing various reasons. There is still a huge amount pending to be collected. The mental stress has become unbearable. I have not harmed my organization or its workers. My fellow councillors extended their cooperation. Please do not harass my family," the note read. Meanwhile, Nedumcaud ward councillor, Karamana Ajith, accused Thampanoor police of harassing Anilkumar in connection with the allegations against him. Ajith stated that the harassment by police prompted Anilkumar to commit suicide, and hence, a comprehensive investigation is needed. Anilkumar, 55, was found hanging in his office on Saturday morning. He came to office around 8.30am and was found hanging around 9.45am by a staff member. He also kept a suicide note alleging his 'own people' for isolating him amid the financial distress faced by the society.
