GUILFORD -- Everyone is welcome to come enjoy the Back O'Town Cajun Band, featuring local musicians, on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 5 p.m. on the lawn at Christ Church in Algiers Village, Route 5 and Melendy Hill Road. The Band will perform their high-energy Cajun and Zydeco dance music. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the music and light refreshments.
Back O'Town Cajun Band features Pete and Linda Simoneaux on fiddle, accordion(s) and vocals, with Michael Pattavina on acoustic guitar and vocals. The concert will include pieces from an array of genres: classic cajun 2-steps and waltzes, old-time country music, the blues, zydeco, swamp pop, jazz, New Orleans R&B and Mardi Gras standards.
The Christ Church Guilford Society, Inc., is a federally-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The all-volunteer Board is working hard to reopen the historic 1817 building following damage to the roof and ceiling and a lightning strike in September 2023. The organization said it is grateful for generous support from individuals and granting agencies to make repairs.
