Stoughton sophomore Cara Link talks about her role model, favorite pre-game meal, how she got started in softball and more.
The State Journal will recognize the accomplishments of five high school boys tennis players from our coverage area each week.
The efforts may not be the greatest statistically, but are notable. We then invite readers to vote for the Supernova, the performance that stood out the most to you.
Here are this week's honorees.
Ty Tennison extends winning streak
Verona sophomore Ty Tennison is currently on a seven-game winning streak and has cemented himself as one of the top players in the Big Eight conference.
Tennison won five matches this past week, including two over conference opponents. He beat Madison West's Alex Blonien and Madison East's Tai Sandretto-Chang, according to Tennis Reporting.

Blonien posed the biggest challenge for Tennison. The Madison West sophomore took the second set 6-1, but Tennison fought back and took the tiebreaker 10-6.
The sophomore plays with confidence and precision, helping him win four of his matches this week in straight sets.
David Klaas stays solid
Madison Memorial junior David Klaas continues to deliver consistent results for his team, putting up one strong performance after another.
"David has continued his solid play this season over the past week," Madison Memorial coach Joseph King said.

Klaas won three matches in the No. 1 singles bracket and his first doubles match of the season, also in the No. 1 bracket, according to Tennis Reporting.
He now has a 5-1 record in the Big Eight conference after wins over Madison East and Madison West and is currently ranked 37th in the state.
Leo Geisler beginning to win big
Sophomore Leo Geisler is on his way to becoming a consistent winner for Madison Country Day/Abundant Life/St. Ambrose boys tennis.
Geisler went 4-1 this week to nearly double his win total on the season in the No. 2 singles bracket. He beat University Lake School's Beltran Guibert 6-1, 6-0, according to Tennis Reporting.

Geisler also beat opponents from the Prairie School, Racine Horlick/Park and Delavan-Darien, all in straight sets.
While Geisler's win streak came to an end with a loss to Waunakee's Noah Sell, his strong play throughout the week suggests that it won't be long before he starts another one.
Bodi Russo thrives under pressure
After placing fifth at last year's Division 1 state championship with former partner Ilya Rice, Middleton's Bodi Russo is back for his senior season and taking on top competition with ease.
This season, Russo, alongside new partner Caden Cheng, has battled against the top competition in the state week-in and week-out. Most of their opponents this season in No. 1 doubles have previous state championship experience.

The two are currently on a seven-match winning streak, with five wins this week, according to Tennis Reporting.
In their most recent matches, the duo beat conference rivals from Sun Prairie United and Madison La Follette. Russo and Cheng beat Sun Prairie's Cameron Mckenna and Aashrith Kamini without dropping a set, then Madison La Follette's Cayden Rooney Barrow and Jack Kallal without losing a game.
Desmond Lasseter on a hot streak
Madison West junior Desmond Lasseter hasn't lost a match, or a set for that matter, in two weeks. Regardless of who his doubles partner is or what bracket he is playing in, Lasseter continues to win.
Lasseter typically plays in the No. 3 doubles with either Samuel Stampfli or Lucas Morris, but this week he was called to play in the No. 2 doubles as well.

In the No. 3 doubles, Lasseter and Lucas went 3-0, beating Whitefish Bay, Nicolet and Madison Memorial.
