The move from Mumbai to Maharashtra seems to have paid off for Prithvi Shaw, as the batter produced a belligerent double hundred in only his second outing for the team. Playing against Chandigarh in the second-round fixtures of the Ranji Trophy, Shaw recorded the second-fastest double hundred ever in the Elite Group of the tournament.

Batting against Chandigarh, Shaw reached his milestone in just 141 balls, surpassing Rahul Singh's record from the 2023/24 season. Shaw now occupies the second spot on the list, only behind Ravi Shastri, who had scored his double hundred in just 123 balls back in the 1984/85 season.
