Met Office rain warning with 16 hours of downpours to lash Birmingham - Birmingham Live

The Met Office has forecast that downpours over the next 16 hours will lash Birmingham.

It said rain could be heavy at times until the early hours of tomorrow, Saturday, October 4, while there will be strengthening winds.

More unsettled weather is expected this weekend.

In a forecast for Birmingham, The Met Office said: "Any early brightness soon giving way to increasingly grey skies before rain, heavy at times, arrives in the afternoon with strengthening winds.

"A mild day despite the widespread cloud. Maximum temperature 18C.

"Tonight: Rain clearing during the evening with scattered showers and clear spells overnight.

"Remaining windy with squally gusts possible for a time. Rather humid evening, feeling fresher by dawn.

"Minimum temperature 8C.

"Saturday: Unsettled with showers and longer spells of rain.

"Sunnier spells are possible, but feeling noticeably cooler than of late with brisk northwesterly winds and localised gales. Maximum temperature 14C.

"Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday: Winds easing slightly from Sunday, though remaining breezy.

"Largely dry into next week with sunny spells at times but isolated showers can't be ruled out.
