García tweaked his right quadriceps muscle while running to first base in the ninth inning.
The Rangers' surprising playoff push almost directly coincides with the return of Adolis García to the lineup after a stint on the injured list with an ankle issue.
García was removed from Monday's game against the Diamondbacks in the ninth inning after tweaking his right quadriceps muscle while running to first base. Arizona tried to turn a double play on García's ground ball, but he was able to beat the throw to first base.
After coming up gimpy following his sprint to first base, trainers and Bruce Bochy went out to check on him to see if he could stay in the game. Following a conversation, he remained in the game but immediately had to test it out when Jake Burger, who was pinch hitting for Rowdy Tellez, blasted the first pitch he saw to center field for a RBI triple that cut Arizona's lead to 5-4.
As García scored from first he was unable to run at full speed and was clearly in pain. Luckily for the Rangers, the Diamondbacks outfielders took so long to get the ball back to the infield that García was able to get all the way home without running very fast.

The Rangers tied the game in the ninth inning and when Texas took the field on defense in the bottom half of the inning, Alejandro Osuna had replaced García in the outfield.
"It doesn't stop, does it?" Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said after the game of Texas' bad injury luck. "He was playing so well. We'll evaluate him tomorrow, it's the right quad, that's where he feels it. We're hoping for the best news tomorrow."

Later in the 10th inning, the Rangers took a 7-5 lead and Shawn Armstrong finished off the game as Texas moved within 1 ½ games of the Mariners for the final wild card spot.
