Three people are dead and at least eight are wounded following a mass shooting at a crowded lounge in Brooklyn.

Multiple gunmen opened fire overnight inside the Taste of the City Lounge on Franklin Avenue in the Canarsie section of the borough, New York City police said Sunday.

The NYPD said the shooting stemmed from a dispute between people inside the lounge.

At least 36 shell casings were recovered from what appeared to be multiple guns, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said during a news conference at the scene.

The victims include eight men and three women, the NYPD said. Their ages range from 27 to 61 years old.

Three men were pronounced dead at the scene and eight people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, Tisch said.

So far, police have not made any arrests and investigators are trying to find surveillance video of the incident.

Officer discovered a gun on nearby Bedford Avenue, but it was not immediately clear if it was part of the lounge shooting.
