Adele officially announces indefinite hiatus from music following end of Las Vegas residency

Adele won't say hello to fans from the stage again for an "incredibly long time" after her yearslong stint in Sin City.

The singer, 36, confirmed her plans to take a break from music after her Las Vegas residency ends in November. Speaking to fans at her final Munich show on Saturday, Adele explained her decision.

"I just need a rest. I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now," Adele told the crowd in a clip shared on X on Saturday. "I want to live my life that I've been building and I will miss you terribly."

Adele's residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace will pick up again in October for 10 more shows before wrapping up. The two-year run began in November 2022.

The Grammy winner's 60-show deal at The Colosseum has reportedly earned her $2 million per performance.

"But after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time," she added. "And I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break."

This isn't the first time Adele has mentioned stepping back. In July, she told Germany's ZDF public broadcast service that her "tank is quite empty" from all the shows.

"I want a big break after all this and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while," she said at the time, as reported by the BBC.

Adele played several concerts in Munich during August at a custom-built venue, with her final show on Aug. 31.

She also clarified that she has "no plans for new music at all."
