A pre-school in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, is "so pleased" after reaching an impressive milestone. An Ofsted rating handed to Little Teapots Pre-school this week represents its fifth 'outstanding' grade in a row.
The first 'outstanding' rating was handed to the spot on Chevington Road in 2007. The inspectorate's latest report, published on October 20, shows a continuation of the high standards recognised 18 years ago.
The latest report states: "Children flourish in this inclusive, welcoming and community-focused pre-school. Highly dedicated leaders, together with the enthusiastic staff, implement an ambitious and carefully sequenced curriculum that meets the needs of every child.
"Staff know the children extremely well and adapt their interactions and routines to ensure that children feel safe and secure. They deliver engaging experiences with care, warmth and respect."
Support for children's communication and language skills are described as "exemplary". Ofsted also mentions effective methods used by Little Teapots Pre-school to help children regulate their emotional responses and develop an understanding of diversity.
The pre-school gained a rating of 'outstanding' in every category assessed: education quality, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management. Jenny Snape, lead practitioner, commented: "We are so pleased to have received our fifth consecutive Ofsted 'outstanding' grading.
"I have an amazing team who all bring their own individual strengths to create an engaging environment for the children to flourish in. We ensure that children always come first and they are the heart of our pre school."
Little Teapots Pre-school had 49 children between the ages of two and four on its registers during the time of the inspection. It provides government-funded places, and operates between 8am and 4pm on term-time weekdays.
