Christmas jobs have been announced by supermarket giant, Tesco. Stores are offering festive jobs in several different areas across Essex with temporary jobs being announced in 16 areas of the county.

Offering rates of pay from £12.64 an hour (rising to £13.85 for stores inside the M25), the supermarket is accepting applications now. Jobs that are available include both daytime and nighttime shifts, with those working overnight earning an extra £2.35 per hour.

Tesco has shared that applicants do not need to have experience, just "the right attitude". Applications for positions are now open.

Ela Golab, Tesco Group people services director, told The Mirror: "We're excited to be recruiting festive colleagues to help make it a season to remember for our customers. With the busy Christmas period ahead, we are looking for people who can bring warmth, enthusiasm and a helpful service to every shopping trip.

"The jobs will range from serving customers and stocking shelves, to picking orders for home delivery. No day is ever the same, and festive colleagues will be able to feel the impact they make on every shift, as they send customers home with a smile. What's more, no experience is necessary - just the right attitude."
