Cool, breezy weather continues through weekend in Metro Detroit

This weekend will continue to be cool and breezy in Metro Detroit.

Temperatures will tumble to the lower- to mid-50s near Adrian and Ann Arbor and mid-50s in most of Metro Detroit. It will be a few degrees higher, or upper 50s, in Detroit, Dearborn, Ferndale, Warren, and Roseville. Nighttime winds will be out of the west-southwest at 5 to 10 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Do you plan to attend the Shelby Township Art Fair at River Bends Park or the Festival of Flight at the Oakland County International Airport in Waterford on Sunday? Some people might want to take a light jacket.

Under partly cloudy skies, Sunday afternoon's temperatures will only reach the mid 70s. While most of Southeast Michigan will be dry, the Thumb will have a chance of a few scattered showers during the afternoon. A stray shower could also pop up in Metro Detroit. Westerly winds will be 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

Workweek

The workweek will bring seasonable weather. Starting Monday and continuing into the weekend, highs will be in the upper-70s to lower-80s. Lows will mainly be in the lower- to mid-60s.

From Monday to Thursday, Metro Detroit will have a mix of sunshine and clouds. The chance of rain will be very low. Friday and Saturday, there will be a slight chance of showers.

Flood Alert

The stretch of mostly dry weather will allow the elevated rivers and creeks to fall, but a flood warning continues for the Huron River near Hamburg in Livingston County. The flood stage is 7 feet. Moderate flooding was being observed at 7.8 feet on Saturday evening. It is forecast to fall below flood stage by next weekend.
