Nick Mohammed's secret skills that make him a Celebrity Traitors dark horse

Nick Mohammed has the potential to do very well at Celebrity Traitors, given his particular set of skills.

From his great memory to puzzle-solving ability, the Taskmaster star has acquired a strong skillset that could stand him in good stead for the Scottish castle. The Ted Lasso actor has been made a faithful in the game while playing with stars including Stephen Fry and Alan Carr.

As Celebrity Traitors gets underway, we take a look at what could make Mohammed an excellent player in the cut-throat murder mystery game.

When it comes to his intelligence, Mohammed is modest. The Ted Lasso actor stumbled into comedy when he was studying a PhD degree in seismology at Cambridge University. His degree was in geophysics at Durham. Initially, he planned to become a geologist,I but he fell into comedy.

In 2025, he told The Observer: "I read geophysics at Durham University, then a PhD in seismology [at Cambridge]. It was all geared towards a life of academia or working for an oil company, which didn't sit well with me. When I joined Footlights, it ignited an inner fire and made me dare to believe that a career in comedy might be possible.

"When I got into the Footlights tour show, I had to take two months off my PhD. I had this romantic moment, walking away from the Bullard Laboratories [in Cambridge], knowing deep down I was never coming back."

In the civilian series, people with jobs that are associated with being intelligent often get voted out quickly due to fears that they could be a good traitor. Take the hospital doctor Kaz, for instance, from series three. He found himself under suspicion from his fellow faithful, simply for being a doctor, and was the third person to be banished from his season.

Having become famous for acting and comedy, it may not be so well known that Mohammed had such a studious background. This could be a secret weapon for him.

While on 8 Out of 10 Cats, Mohammed has showcased his impressive memory in front of Alan Carr, who is also starring on Celebrity Traitors.

The actor proved he had memorised the entire Wagamama menu in his mind, being able to share the number of each dish. In addition to this, the comedian demonstrated that he could memorise the order of a stack of cards.

A great memory will come in handy at Ardross Castle. Being able to memorise who voted for whom at the roundtable will help narrow down any potential traitors. Additionally, being able to recall who said exactly what will aid in the hunt for traitors.

In Celebrity Traitors, Mohammed has already brought his puzzle-solving skills to the first mission, helping the team bag £15,000 for charity.

When starring on Taskmaster series 17, the Ted Lasso actor threw himself into a variety of challenges where he had to be creative and puzzle solve.

While he may not have scored highly on Taskmaster, thinking outside of the box is something that the actor had to do during filming.

Having mainly worked as an actor, Mohammed has an element of mystery. Perhaps he will be able to surprise the celebrities in the castle.

He said: "I decided to take part because I absolutely adore the show, and always have done. This is the first thing I've ever done as myself. I did Taskmaster, which was sort of as me, but even that, I decided to dress as Dracula because I wanted to hide behind something.

"Because I like to act, often in character, I tend not to do as much as myself to sort of preserve an element of mystery, I guess. But there was no way I was going to give up an opportunity like this! I've always loved games like this and to hang out with such a wonderful, fascinating bunch too -- what a privilege."
