Coventry City continue to be the highest scorers in the Championship with 15 from their opening five games of the 2025/26 season.
But on Saturday they were frustrated in their own back yard by a Norwich City side who made no apologies for setting out their stall to stifle and stem the flow of Sky Blues goals using every tactic in the gamesmanship book.
It begged the question as to whether teams have quickly got wise to Frank Lampard's attacking philosophy and if it will become a regular occurrence this season, and hurdle City will have to face with opponents putting bodies behind the ball and being content to soak up the pressure.
"I don't know," said the head coach. "Maybe it depends on the opposition. Our next games are at Leicester who have come down from the Premier League and then Birmingham come here (to the CBS). They're good teams so I expect them to come and try and trade with us, or whatever. But yeah, if they're aware of that they'll try and negate that."
He added: "But even though Norwich were low quite a lot today because we pushed them back, I still thought we created enough even with them having those bodies. It was just that final bit, so yeah, we just need to carry on."
