A VEHICLE fire in Claines has spread to a hedgerow, forcing emergency services to close the road while the flames are dealt with.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called out to a fire on Claines Lane earlier this evening (March 13).

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "A HWFRS crew has responded to a fire involving a diesel pickup truck alight on Claines Lane near Claines Island. The flames have spread to approximately 4 metres of hedgerow."

"Firefighters are currently using two breathing apparatus and two hose reels to battle the flames."
