The 56th annual festival of Visakha Music Academy (VMA) will be held at Kalabharathi auditorium here from November 23 to 29. The VMA has been promoting classical music and dance in the city for the last 56 years through monthly concerts, a youth festival in June and an annual series in November.

These events are being received well by music lovers and musicians in and around the city, according a statement issued by its secretary Chandra Sekhar Veeraghanta.

The programmes to be organised this year are: vocal recital by Baby Shreeram (Chennai) on November 23, violin by V.V. Subrahmanyam (Chennai) on November 24, vocal recital by Kottapalli Vandana (Tirupati) on November 25, veena by Ramana Balachandran (Tiruvannamalai) on November 26, vocal recital by K.S. Vishnudev (Ernakulam) on November 27, flute by Heramb and Hemanth (Bengaluru) on November 28 and vocal recital by Abhishek Raghuram (Chennai) on November 29.

V. V. Subrahmanyam, renowned violinist from Chennai, will receive the title 'Sangeeta Kala Saagara' for this year from the Academy on November 24.

The festival will be inaugurated by Dharmender Varada (MD, Novus Constructions and chairperson of CREDAI, Visakhapatnam chapter) on November 23.

Admission is open to all. The Academy appealed to musicians and music lovers to attend the concerts everyday.
