The Delhi Legislative Assembly on Monday commemorated the 150th Jayanti of Bhagwan Birsa Munda with a special programme that brought together tribal youth, paramilitary officers, and lawmakers in a celebration of unity, cultural heritage and national integration.

Addressing the gathering, Speaker Vijender Gupta called Birsa Munda "a timeless symbol of courage" and urged citizens to renew their commitment to building an inclusive and sustainable India. "As we celebrate the 150th Jayanti of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, let us honour diversity, protect the environment and ensure that the most marginalised find their rightful place in our national journey," he added.

The event welcomed 200 youth and 20 officers from CRPF, BSF and ITBP under the Union government's Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) initiative.

Representing eight Naxal-affected districts across five states, the participants shared their experiences of visiting the national capital, describing the tour as inspiring and eye-opening.

Delhi Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood, the chief guest for the event, said such exposure fulfilled the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. "Education is complete only when it connects youth with their roots," he said, adding that NEP 2020's vision comes alive when students travel and experience India's cultural richness firsthand.

Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht praised the program calling it a symbol of hope and empowerment for young people from conflict-affected regions.

A cultural segment featuring traditional dance performances from Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh added vibrancy to the event and showcased the diverse heritage of the visiting groups.
