Spotted! Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson filming 'Brothers' at these Austin locations

Matthew McConaughey shared what he did during his break from acting and what made him fall in love with the art.

Austin, dust off your best cowboy boots and keep your eyes peeled -- Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are painting our city in various shades of Hollywood. The dynamic duo, whose bromance is apparently so strong it requires an Apple TV+ series, have been spotted all over town, turning everyday Austin locales into impromptu film sets.

From filming on Congress Street to being fictionally pulled over on Riverside Drive, the two are showing off our city in the upcoming show "Brothers."

Auditorium Shores: 'Golden sons of Texas' in blue suits

Just this week, the pair brought their signature Texan flair to Auditorium Shores. Walkers and drivers captured the stars in eye-catching, matching blue suits, adorned with their faces on the back and a banner over the picture declaring them the "golden sons of Texas." We're not sure if it's a fashion statement but it's certainly something.

The scene involved a Ford F-150 and an Austin police pullover on West Riverside Drive. One can only imagine the dialogue that ensued.

Kruger's Diamond Jewelers sparkles with 'Brothers' filming

This recent flurry of activity follows an earlier sighting downtown, where State Representative Eddie Morales Jr. reportedly stumbled upon the stars outside Kruger's Diamond Jewelers. He told the San Antonio Express-News they were indeed filming for "Brothers," a show said to center on the bond between the actors as they navigate life on McConaughey's Texas ranch.

After their intense and critically acclaimed pairing in HBO's "True Detective," this new project promises a lighter dose of comedy.

The case of the closed coffee shop: "Hermanos" on the menu?

For those of you who've been wondering why your favorite coffee haven, Radio Coffee & Beer, was mysteriously shut down earlier this month, the plot thickens. While not officially confirmed to be the "Brothers" shoot, filming permits for a project classified as "2025 FILM Hermanos Production" aligned with the four-day closure. And for those of you who flunked high school Spanish, "Hermanos" translates to "Brothers."

Beyond the camera: Advocating for Texas film

But it's not all fun and games for these two. McConaughey and Harrelson have also been championing the Texas film industry, even making a trip to the Capitol to advocate for film incentive bills. So, while they're busy turning our streets into their personal soundstage, they're also working to ensure Austin remains a prime destination for producers.

So, keep your eyes peeled, Austin. You never know when you might catch another glimpse of Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson bringing their Texas charm to our city. This time, it looks like the intensity of "True Detective" is trading places with what's sure to be a hilariously Texan adventure, complete with matching blue suits.
