Given her vast experience in the field, Fox Sports veteran sportscaster Erin Andrews knows a good report when she sees one. This was exactly the case for the 46-year-old on Sunday after she came across a segment on "Fox NFL Kickoff," which was presented by her good friend and fellow Fox Sports reporter Charissa Thompson.
The report featured a seven-year-old boy, Aiden Steiner, who was diagnosed with a rare and terminal disease called Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy or INAD. Amid the Steiner family's heartbreaking situation, they revealed that they are fans of the New Orleans Saints and that watching games on a weekly basis serves as an "escape from reality for an hour or two."
In this light, Fox Sports arranged a special meeting between Aiden and his family and eight-time Pro Bowl defensive end Cameron Jordan of the Saints. It was great seeing Aiden interact with Jordan in what was a truly heartwarming encounter.
Andrews just had to react to the beautiful moment as she sent a message to Jordan for his role in giving this young boy an unforgettable memory.
"This. Love u @camjordan94," Andrews posted on X.
Jordan himself shared the video on his own X feed, which included a heartfelt message for Aiden and the Steiner family as they go through their unwinnable battle.
"Much love, Prayers, well wishes and positive hope to the Steiner family, such a pleasure meeting all of you. And to Aiden it was an honor hanging with you 🫶" Jordan posted.
NFL players have a lot going on in their lives both on and off the field. This is certainly the case for Jordan, who was previously named as part of the Hall of Fame All-2010s Team.
As such, it's great to see players like Jordan, 35, take the time and put in a real effort to meet young fans -- especially those like Aiden who has so unfortunately been robbed of a full life.
Andrews definitely appreciates the gesture from Jordan here and she made her feelings about it known.
