Kaiser Permanente Dermatology is offering free skin cancer screenings in late August

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) -- Kaiser Permanente Dermatology Department invites the Kern County community to a free skin cancer screening.

The screening will take place at the Kaiser Dermatology building in Bakersfield at 1200 Discovery Drive on Wednesday, August 21st from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Walk-ins are welcomed and an appointment is not needed to attend the screening.

Dermatologist, Lindsey Bennett, will be available for questions to talk about the importance of skin safety and some of the signs of when a good time is to see your dermatologist.

The goal of the screening is to raise awareness of how early skin cancer can form and the importance of getting your skin checked out.
