Ministry of Education, Science and Technology says the government will ensure that Mombera University is completed within the current term of the Democratic Progressive Party administration.

Minister responsible, Bright Msaka, made the remarks in Parliament while responding to a concern raised by the Member of Parliament for Dedza Mlunduni, Moses Kumkuyu, on who is responsible for overseeing the construction and completion of the university.

‎Msaka said President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has established a team that includes the Second Vice President Enock Chihana as head of the team, and the Ministries of Education, Finance and Transport and Public Works, which will work together on the project.

‎He said the Ministry of Finance will work with the Ministry of Education to provide resources for the construction of the University, while the Ministry of Transport and Public Works will handle construction works.

‎

‎Msaka emphasised that the construction works on Mombera University will commence as soon as possible.

In 2018, the government announced plans to build the institution, which is located in Mzimba District. (MBC)
