De: In a good news for the vehicle owners, the pending traffic challans will be settled in the National Lok Adalat today. The traffic challans will now either be reduced or completely waived off.

For over-speeding on the highway, not wearing a helmet or seat belt, violating traffic rules, wrong parking the traffic police issues hefty fines. The people are left with no other option but to pay a fine.

These days online challans are being issued and they are compelled to pay the fines. Now the government has given a golden opportunity for them. These fines will either be reduced or completely waived off depending on the case.

The National Lok Adalat on September 13 will hear this case. The case of these traffic challans will be resolved in this Lok Adalat. For this, the applicants will first have to get a token through the online registration process.

The serious cases like drunk driving, hit-and-run cases, reckless driving causing death will not be covered.

1. Visit Delhi Traffic Police website.

2. Select the legal service authority option.

3. Fill in the details such as full name, contact number, vehicle registration number and pending challan information.

4. Submit the form.

5. Applicants will generate a token number and an appointment letter by email or SMS. A confirmation link and token download link will also be provided.

6. The timings for the hearing will be from 10 am to 4 pm.
