The electromagnetic (EM) spectrum is one of nature's most fascinating and foundational phenomena. Let's start with the basics. Electromagnetic radiation is energy that travels in waves, created when electrically charged particles, like electrons, vibrate or accelerate. These waves carry both electric and magnetic components that move together through space, forming the electromagnetic field. Depending on how quickly they oscillate, these waves span a wide range of frequencies and wavelengths. That full range is what we call the electromagnetic spectrum.
