According to The New York Times, Planned Parenthood Great Rivers, serving parts of Missouri and Illinois, will be stationed with their mobile health clinic in close proximity to the DNC on August 19 and 20.

The clinic will reportedly offer medication abortions on both days, with vasectomies being exclusively available on Monday.

The demand for appointments at the vasectomy vehicle has surged, with prospective recipients promptly signing up on a waitlist, as revealed by sources. Interested individuals looking to undergo sterilization procedures are required to complete a Google Form, furnishing their personal details like name, birthdate, and contact information to secure their place in line.

In a statement on the Google Form, Planned Parenthood reassures potential patients that services will be priced on a sliding-fee scale, emphasizing a commitment to providing healthcare regardless of financial constraints.

As for those seeking medication abortions, they can also register online, with no current waitlist for either day, permitting walk-ins without prior appointments.

Vice President Kamala Harris, who is speculated to be the presumptive 2024 Democratic presidential nominee, has been a vocal advocate for abortion rights post the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on June 24, 2024, overturning Roe v. Wade.

During her tenure as vice president, Harris embarked on a nationwide pro-abortion campaign that commenced in Wisconsin on January 22, 2024, marking the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade. In a White House announcement "Fight for Reproductive Freedoms," Harris emphasized the significance of abortion as one of the cornerstones of American liberties.

It is anticipated that Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, will address matters concerning abortion and in vitro fertilization (IVF) at the DNC, reflecting the Democratic Party's unwavering stance on reproductive rights.

Leading up to the convention, pro-abortion factions have organized demonstrations the night before, with reports indicating that abortion rights advocates took legal action against Chicago in May after the city's refusal to issue permits for marches surrounding the event, as reported by ABC7 Chicago.

One of the visual demonstrations planned includes the display of a large "inflatable IUD," a contraceptive method that activists have playfully dubbed "Freeda Womb," as detailed by The New York Times.

In response to the impending protests, over a dozen local businesses in Chicago have fortified their establishments by boarding up windows and doors with plywood in anticipation of potential disturbances outside the DNC, as confirmed by WGN9.

The Democratic National Convention is scheduled to commence on Monday and will span until Thursday, promising a politically charged atmosphere as various agendas and ideologies converge during the event.
