Dang, just realized why we'll never see a 32" iMac...

You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly.

You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. I'm currently shopping for a 27" monitor at 4K resolution and mid-range models cost around $300 while higher end models cost $550. Increasing the size to 32" costs even higher and going to 5k can go up to $1,000.

The 24" iMac almost shot itself in the foot because it has a 4.5k display (edited). Same with the 27" Apple Studio Display, it has a 5k display and costs $1600. The 32" Pro Display XDR is 6k and costs $5000.

Because the 24" iMac has a 4.5k display, it is almost certain a 32" iMac would be a 6k display to keep the PPI at 218 (similar to the iMac, Studio Display, and Pro Display DXR all having 218 PPI).

Considering even brands such as Dell and LG with "inferior" 5k monitors at 32" cost so much, a 6k 32" iMac would be like $2500 which is not the price Apple wants for the mainstream iMac. I think we will be waiting a long, long time for a 32" iMac if they do keep the trend of 218 PPI.
