A beauty entrepreneur has won an award and is among the top 100 in the UK.

Danielle Scott, 26, from Cwmbran, has achieved this in her first year in the industry.

The businesswoman was awarded Best Brow Technician for Wales and was recognised as one of the top 100 in the country out of more than 10,000 entrants.

Despite the award, Ms Scott is determined to continue improving.

She is already planning further training to perfect all her skills, admitting that "not all of them are up there yet" but stressing her commitment to becoming the best she can be.

Ms Scott's ambitions extend far beyond the treatment chair.

She has applied for the Cwmbran Futures Grant to create a wellbeing hub that will transform her hometown.

Her vision includes a spa, beauty, hair, and barbering services, meditation, yoga, and pilates spaces, and a restaurant cafe with a dining room that can also be rented out for events.

She hopes this hub will become a relaxing spot for socialising, getting into shape physically and mentally, and providing the right gateways for people to get help when needed, while creating meaningful employment opportunities in Cwmbran.

Ms Scott said: "My goal is bigger than beauty.

"I want to create something that supports wellbeing in every sense - a place where people can heal, grow, and find new opportunities.

"If I can bring that to Cwmbran, it will mean everything to me."

She also plans to work with organisations such as Communities for Work to support people recovering from poor mental health.

Ms Scott will also be attending the Torfaen Events Awards evening as a finalist for two positions, celebrating local achievements in business and community impact.

She said: "I still can't quite believe it.

"To win Best Brow Technician in Wales during my first year is a huge honour - and to place in the Top 100 across the UK out of so many talented people feels incredible.

"Brows have always been my favourite treatment, and I love the confidence they can give someone."
