Health and Wellness Minister, Dr Christopher Tufton, hailed the healthcare workers who died during the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today, Monday, marks the fifth anniversary since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He was also speaking on Monday at a ceremony to unveil a monument at the National Chest Hospital to honour healthcare workers, who died while working to protect Jamaicans during the pandemic.
Monday is also four years since the first COVID vaccine was administered.
Minister Tufton says the government remains committed to supporting healthcare workers, especially those working on the front line.
