From the beginning of the season to now, no defense has made bigger strides and improvements than the Philadelphia Eagles.
On the defensive line, their lack of sacks early in the year has transformed into a group that now is 13th in the league in that overall stat. They have also become a top-10 defense against the run, pass, and overall.
With the group continuing to improve and dominate with so many young players on the roster, it isn't much of a surprise why the team decided to not make a move at the trade deadline to bolster the entire defensive line.
It's something that head coach Nick Sirianni supported. Even with a tease of a bigger role for one of the organization's top rookie defenders.
"We feel good about the rotation," Sirianni said. "I think all four of those guys have done a nice job and then we'll see Jalyx getting into the mix as well because I think he's been doing a good job at practice to be able to do that.
"So, we feel like we have five guys in that rotation that can get after the passer that can crush the edge on the run."
The tease of third-round rookie in Jalyx Hunt is an important name-drop for Philadelphia. Hunt recorded his first sack in the NFL three weeks ago against the New York Giants.

As he continues to develop at a high level, the Eagles appear more than willing to give him more opportunities, maybe starting this week at the Dallas Cowboys.
Does that mean less of Bryce Huff or any other players? That remains to be seen.
