Sky renews LET rights in UK and Ireland through 2030 - Sportcal

Sky, the prominent UK pay-TV broadcaster, has bolstered its golf coverage after renewing its long-standing partnership with the Ladies European Tour (LET) for another five years.

The new agreement sees Sky Sports continue its exclusive coverage of all LET tournaments through 2030, with the deal also covering the next three editions of the flagship Solheim Cup teams competition between Team Europe and Team USA.

The new deal, brokered by LET's exclusive media rights advisor Pitch International, will take the partnership into its 30th year.

Theresa McCann, the LET's commercial director, said: "We're thrilled to continue our partnership with Sky, a relationship that has spanned many successful years. This extension is a testament to the strength of our collaboration and shared commitment to deliver world-class coverage to our fans.

"With this renewal, we will continue to showcase the incredible talent and inspiring stories, further amplifying the visibility of the sport and empowering the next generation of golfers."

The deal builds on Sky's partnership with LET, which started back in 2010, while the broadcaster has been the exclusive UK broadcaster for the Solheim Cup since 1996.

Sky's coverage of Team Europe's third successive win at the last Solheim Cup in 2024 broke viewership records, peaking at 734,000 - a feat the broadcaster is keen to emulate during next year's edition at Bernardus in the Netherlands.

Sky Chief Sports Officer, Jonathan Licht, said: "Extending our long-standing partnership with the Ladies European Tour demonstrates Sky's continued commitment to growing and investing in women's golf at a time when the sport is more exciting than ever.

"Sky has been the home of women's golf for three decades, and Team Europe's historic victory at the 2023 Solheim Cup was a moment that truly captivated audiences. We look forward to continuing to showcase these stories and the sport's biggest stars to further grow audiences, in turn engaging new fans."

The rights also add to Sky's coverage of women's sport, which accounts for 70% of all televised women's sport in the UK across soccer, golf, cricket, netball, tennis, motorsport, and rugby league.

Golf, meanwhile, is one of the key sports for Sky, which airs all four men's major events each year, all five women's majors annually, as well as the US golf's top-tier PGA Tour. Most recently, the pay-TV broadcaster renewed its rights for the DP World Tour, Ryder Cup, and US Open.

The broadcaster's overall coverage of golf in 2025 saw high viewership numbers, with the flagship Masters and men's Ryder Cup team tournaments delivering record figures.

The Masters in April, which culminated with Rory McIlroy's historic victory to complete the career Grand Slam, saw a record peak audience of 1.8 million, while September's Ryder Cup brought in a record-breaking 5 million viewers in total, with average viewing figures up 45% from those of the 2023 edition.
