Cynthia Pemberton, president of Lewis-Clark State College, has been named the next chair of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' Council of Presidents.
The council, composed of 23 institutional presidents representing NAIA conferences, voted unanimously for Pemberton. She will serve as chair-elect for two years, with her term as chair running from 2027 to 2029.
Pemberton has been president of LCSC since 2018, where she has overseen the NAIA's premier event, the Avista World Series.
