What's better than being the king of the hill? Being the king of Queens.
Perched atop the tallest residential building in Queens, a Long Island City penthouse has hit the market for $11,500 a month. What's more -- that price, according to StreetEasy, also makes it the most expensive rental unit in the borough.
The lavish unit, Penthouse No. 406, crowns the Skyline Tower at 3 Court Square -- which is also the second tallest on Long Island.
Soaring 778 feet above the ground on the 67th floor, this four-bedroom, three-bathroom condo spans 1,547 square feet and offers sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline, the East River and the boroughs beyond.
This "is the crown jewel of Skyline Tower Condominium," Michael Chadwick, who holds the listing with the Corcoran Group, told The Post.
Designed for luxury living, the penthouse features a corner living room with wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows, filling the space with natural light and wide views of cityscape.
The sleek, modern kitchen boasts top-of-the-line appliances, while two of the four bedrooms come with en-suite bathrooms -- offering residents the feel of dual primary suites.
Residents of Skyline Tower enjoy a 24-hour doorman, a concierge service, a 75-foot indoor pool, a sauna, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a game room, a business lounge, a pet spa, a roof deck, and valet parking -- all just one subway stop from Midtown Manhattan.
If leased at its asking price, this unit will shatter the building's rental record, edging out penthouse No. 206, which rented for $11,000 in October 2024.
But Chadwick argues that this sky-high price is still a bargain compared to similar luxury rentals in Manhattan.
"It's a steal for what it is," Chadwick told The Post, noting that only three other rental apartments in all of New York City are perched on higher floors.
"That's fine if you want to spend $45,000 to $50,000 a month," he added, referencing units at 845 UN Plaza and 30 Park Place in Manhattan.
But this penthouse's reign as Queens' highest and priciest rental may be short-lived.
BLDG Development's latest project, The Orchard, is currently under construction and is set to claim the title of Queens' tallest building. However, leasing for that tower won't begin until 2026.
