Ohio State Highway Patrol looking for suspect in cemetery hit-skip, several headstones damaged

TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is asking for the public's help in locating a vehicle involved in an incident at Union Hill Cemetery in Tuscarawas County.

On Saturday, Jan. 11 at approximately 8:50 a.m., a pickup truck was driving north on Ragersville Road towards State Route 39 in Sugarcreek Township when it drove off the left side of the road near the cemetery. When the vehicle came off the road, it struck four headstones. The driver fled the scene.

Police say the vehicle is either a Chevrolet Silverado or Dodge Ram crew cab. The vehicle is said to have a chrome front bumper, chrome side mirrors, chrome door handles and roof cab lights. Police also say the vehicle likely has front end and/or left side damage. A male driver is suspected.

Anyone with information involving the vehicle, driver or incident in general is asked to contact the New Philadelphia Post of the OSHP at 330-339-1103.
