ROANOKE - Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias' office has announced the local Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) facility will be turned into a "One-Stop-Shop," designed to offer increased efficiency and reduced wait times. The location has been closed since Monday and will remain that way for the rest of the week due to renovations. A temporary pop-up location will be available for customers at the Thompson Community Center, which is located at the park, 602 W. Victory Ave., from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday. The DMV will re-open this Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 a.m. at its permanent spot at 102 N. Sixth St.
Once completed, the "One-Stop-Shop" will provide a single service counter where customers can receive both vehicle and driver services that will include application for a Read Identification Card (ID), new driver's license, state ID card and more.
