Yamaha XSR 155 Launched At ₹1.49 Lakh - Neo-Retro Roadster With MT-15 Underpinnings

Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha has launched its neo-retro roadster, the Yamaha XSR 155, priced at ₹1,49,990 ex-showroom Delhi. The new Yamaha XSR rivals the likes of the TVS Ronin and the Royal Enfield Hunter 350.

The XSR 155 shares its engine with Yamaha's R15 V4 and MT-15 models. The 155 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder powerplant pushes out 18.4 PS and 14.2 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a six-speed transmission aided by an assist-and-slipper clutch.

Styling highlights of the XSR 155 include a round LED headlight, neo-retro fuel tank, single-piece seat and flat side panels and and simple circular LCD console. The XSR 155 features an upright stance, which should make it quite usable as a daily.

The Yamaha XSR 155 rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels, and features Yamaha's delta-box frame suspended off inverted front forks and a monoshock at the rear. Safety features include dual-channel ABS and switchable traction control as standard.

Yamaha offers the XSR 155 in four colours - Metallic Blue, Greyish Green Metallic, Vivid Red and Metallic Grey - and there are two accessory kits on offer - "Scrambler" and "Café Racer". The former gives the bike a slightly taller stance while the latter adds a sportier seat and retro racer styling touches.

DriveSpark Thinks

The launch of the XSR 155 sees Yamaha go down the neo-retro motorcycle route with its 155cc lineup and it makes for quite a compelling offering, mixing Japanese reliability with neo-retro looks and a tried and tested mechanical base.
