Two men were arrested and charged with sexual battery in separate incidents over the weekend.
Police found an injured, naked woman in a car around 2 a.m. Saturday on Market Street, according to an affidavit. A witness told officers that a heavier-set shirtless man had fled the car. Police found a man resembling the witness description nearby. The man, later identified as Zachary Sharp, 21, also had scratch wounds on his chest and neck, police said.
Sharp, of Trion, Georgia, was arrested and now faces sexual battery and aggravated assault charges.
Officers found the victim in the passenger seat of a silver SUV with her dress outside the vehicle on the ground and her underwear down to her ankles. The victim had a broken pinkie, bruised middle finger, a small laceration on her left hand, a possible broken wrist and bruised left eye, police said. She told officers she was at Shady's Corner and had a few drinks, and when she left, she could not remember what happened.
Officers said she appeared drugged and was incoherent. It's unknown at this time what she ingested, according to a Police Department spokesperson.

According to court records, Sharp is out on bond and scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court Judge Tori Smith's courtroom at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 2.

The student told officials she was intoxicated at an off-campus party at the Sigma Chi fraternity, Delta Theta chapter house on Saturday night, and an acquaintance offered to drive her back to her on-campus residence. Officials said the acquaintance then allegedly sexually assaulted the victim on campus.
