Best NFL bets to make for the biggest games of the 2025 season

In what has become a significant annual event following the NFL Draft, the full 2025 NFL schedule was released in May.

Let's look at our favorite matchups to watch and wager on from every one of the 18 regular-season weeks, and also provide additional seasonal futures bets for the teams involved. NFL Week 1 odds and all the rest of the odds are via DraftKings Sportsbookregular-season.

Thur. Sept. 4 - Dallas Cowboys (+7) at Philadelphia Eagles on DraftKings Sportsbook: The defending champions open at home against their longtime top rivals. It's now been nearly 30 years since the Cowboys last won it all, but this opener will still stir a ton of passion and adrenaline. In a divisional game on the national stage, Dallas will keep it close enough to cover the spread. Week 1 Pick: Dallas +7

Futures bet: George Pickens to record 1,000+ receiving yards (+250): Dak Prescott needed another WR badly, and he will carry the offense with the passing game.

Sun. Sept. 14 - Kansas City Chiefs (-1.5) vs. Philadelphia Eagles on DraftKings Sportsbook: The Super Bowl 59 rematch appears on the schedule very early, and the Chiefs will be ready to exact some regular-season revenge at home. Patrick Mahomes' receiving crew will look deeper and more formidable with the projected return of Rashee Rice. Week 2 Pick: Kansas City -1.5

Futures bet: Patrick Mahomes Over 4,050 Yards (-110): After passing for a career-low 3,928 yards as a regular starter last season, expect a moderate rebound from Mahomes.

Mon Sept. 22- Detroit Lions (+3.5) at Baltimore Ravens: This Monday Night Football game should be one of the highest-rated regular season matchups of the season. Detroit will be on a mission all year long after being upset in the playoffs last season and will outshoot Baltimore. Week 3 Pick: Detroit +3.5

Futures bet: Detroit Lions (+475) to win the NFC: The long-awaited ride to the Super Bowl was knocked off course last season, but the Lions will at least finish the job in the NFC this year to get to their first Super Bowl.

Sun. Sept. 28 - Baltimore Ravens (+1.5) at Kansas City Chiefs: The Ravens won't lose in two consecutive marquee matchups. Baltimore needs to vanquish Kansas City to get to the Super Bowl, and this is a first chance to send a message of readiness. Week 4 Pick: Baltimore +1.5

Futures bet: Lamar Jackson Over 3,500.5 Passing Yards: The Ravens superstar has easily cleared this projected number in each of the last two seasons.

View the odds for Jackson to win the 2025 NFL MVP award here.

Sun. Oct. 5 - Cincinnati Bengals (+1.5) vs. Detroit Lions: This could be one of the most fun games of the season from a viewing and fantasy football perspective. Take the Bengals to outpoint the Lions and home and surely go with the Over of 50.5. Week 5 Pick: Cincinnati +1.5

Futures bet: Joe Burrow to have 4500+ Regular Season Passing Yards (+180): Last season, Burrow passed for a career-high 4,918 yards. The Cincinnati defense will continue to put him in shootout mode.

Sun. Oct. 12 - Detroit Lions (+3) at Kansas City Chiefs: A Super Bowl 60 preview? This could be a matchup between the best team of the 2025 season and the current AFC dynasty. The San Francisco-Tampa Bay matchup should also be a good one this week. Week 6 Pick: Detroit +3

Futures bet: Detroit Lions Over 12.5 Wins (+350): One year after it was anticipated, we could witness the most memorable season in Lions history to this point.

Sun. Oct. 19 - Washington Commanders (-2.5) at Dallas Cowboys: The first meeting of the season between the legendary rivals. Dallas has a tough task being in the NFC East with Washington and Philadelphia, and could use a win here to stay in the first-half race. But Washington will prevail. Week 7 Pick: Washington -2.5

Futures bet: Terry McLaurin to score 10+ TDs in the regular season: When Jayden Daniels showed up for the first time last year, McLaurin finished with a career-high 13 TDs.

Sun. Oct. 26th - Houston Texans (+1.5) vs. San Francisco 49ers: A healthier 49ers team should be an NFC contender again. The Texans, however, will want to signal that they can be a true contender with a win at home here. Week 8 Pick: Houston +1.5

Futures bet: Houston Texans to finish in 1st Place (+110): For the first time in franchise history, the Texans will win a third consecutive division title.

Sun. Nov. 2 - Buffalo Bills (-2.5) vs. Kansas City Chiefs on DraftKings Sportsbook: The seemingly annual clash of AFC powers at the beginning of the second half of the season historically favors Buffalo. The Bills have won their last four regular-season matchups vs. Kansas City. Week 9 Pick: Buffalo -2.5

Futures bet: Buffalo Bills to be the No. 1 Playoff Seed in the AFC (+200): If the Bills finally want to get to a Super Bowl, having home-field advantage at Buffalo can certainly help. They'll at least play well enough during the regular season to tease the fan base again with a top seed in the postseason.

Sun. Nov. 9 - Detroit (+1.5) at Washington on DraftKings Sportsbook: The Lions will get even to a degree, with last season's playoff loss to Washington on their collective minds. Week 10 Pick: Detroit +1.5

Futures bet: Detroit Lions to be the No. 1 Playoff Seed in the AFC (+700): This is a realistic possibility with a good payout. Detroit has the third-best odds to secure the NFC's top seed on DraftKings, one of the top sportsbooks to wager on this season.

Sun. Nov. 16 - Philadelphia (-3.5) vs. Detroit: A possible NFC Championship Game preview. I give Philadelphia the edge at home here, but the result may be different in the postseason. Week 11 Pick: Philadelphia -3.5

Futures bet: NFC North 1/2 Finishers - 1st Detroit/2nd Green Bay (+500): The Packers will stick close for a while, but the Lions will extend the lead late in the season.

Sun. Nov. 23 - Los Angeles Rams (-2.5) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: These can be two of the better teams in the NFC this season. One might make a deep postseason run.

Futures bet: Tampa Bay Over 9.5 Wins (-105): This should be an easy one to clear for a team that has a good shot of winning its division. Week 12 Pick: Los Angeles Rams (-2.5)

Sun. Nov. 30 - Washington Commanders (-2.5) vs. Denver Broncos: A fun Sunday night showdown between Daniels and Bo Nix.

Futures bet: Denver Broncos to make the playoffs (-115): Sean Payton and Bo Nix made it in their first season together and can be improved this year. Week 13 Pick: Washington (-2.5)

Sun. Dec. 7 - Cincinnati Bengals (+5.5) at Buffalo Bills: The Bengals won't miss the playoffs this season, and we could see a rematch at Buffalo down the line in the postseason. Week 14 Pick: Cincinnati (+5.5)

Futures bet: Futures Bet: AFC North 1/2 Finishers - 1st Baltimore/2nd Cincinnati (+160): Baltimore is the more complete team, but Cincinnati won't be far behind.

Thur. Dec. 11th - Atlanta (+5.5) at Tampa Bay: If Michael Penix Jr. fares well in his first full season as a starter, this could be a very important later-season game in the NFC South. Week 15 Pick: Atlanta (+5.5)

Futures bet: Atlanta Falcons 2nd Place in the NFC North (+250): I believe Penix will be a mostly steady offensive pilot, and the Falcons will slide in just behind Tampa Bay in the NFC North.

Sat. Dec. 20 - Philadelphia (-1.5) at Washington: Obviously this can be a decisive game in the NFC East. Week 16 Pick: Philadelphia (-1.5)

Futures bet: Washington Commanders 2nd Place in the NFC East (+130): The Commanders might eventually win the division, but not just yet.

Sun Dec. 28th - Buffalo Bills (-1.5) vs. Philadelphia Eagles: The last time these teams met in 2023, we were treated to 71 points in overtime. Lock in the Over of 46.5. Week 17 Pick: Buffalo (-1.5)

Futures bet: Buffalo Bills vs. Philadelphia Eagles, Exact Matchup for Super Bowl 60 (+1700): Have to sprinkle in a few of these types of futures, and this one is tied for the best odds.

Sun. Jan. 4th - Green Bay (-1.5) at Minnesota: This NFC North showdown could have major playoff implications for both teams. San Francisco (-4.5) vs. Seattle might also significantly impact the NFC playoff picture. Week 18 Pick: Green Bay (-1.5)

Futures bet: Josh Jacobs Over 9.5 Rushing TDs (+100): Moving to Green Bay, Jacobs rushed for a career-high 15 TDs last season. He has rushed for 12+ TDs in two of the last three and three of the past five years. This is a strong play for plus money.
