LaFayette, N.Y. -- Two people were displaced by a house fire in Lafayette on Thursday night.
At 7:34 p.m. a 911 caller reported a house on fire in the 3900 block of Eager Road, firefighters said in a Facebook post.
The caller told dispatchers the house was 3933 Eager Rd and to "please hurry" as fire was coming from upstairs, according to dispatches from the Onondaga County 911 Center.
Firefighters found flames coming from the second floor, Lafayette firefighters said.
Some firefighters cut through the roof, according to the Onondaga Hill Fire Department. Firefighters often ventilate roofs by cutting holes in them to let smoke out.
The bulk of the fire was extinguished in 15 minutes but crews stayed on the scene to put out hotspots for 40 minutes, firefighters said.
Firefighters left the home after about two hours on the scene, firefighters said.
There were no injuries and the damage was mainly contained to the room where the fire started, firefighters said.
Two people were displaced, according to a news release from the American Red Cross.
